Last Friday, 2nd March 2023, the Parisian fashion house Leonard took over the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, facing the Eiffel Tower to unveil its Fall Winter 2023/2024 Ready-to-Wear Collection. Georg Lux, the fashion house’s artistic director since January 2021, revealed a great promise for a chic winter ski season full of modernity.
Georg Lux is a young German artistic director from Berlin named Leonard’s creative director two years ago. The designer is determined to highlight the wealth of know-how of French couture crafts. He considers the preservation of these living heritages as one of the contemporary missions of luxury houses.
For this Fall Winter 2023/2024 Ready-to-Wear Collection, Georg Lux invites us on a 24-hour journey into his muse’s life, the Leonard woman. His show “Hors Piste” presents sophisticated and elegant looks. The Leonard woman is sparkling; she is the mountain queen in Crans, skiing down the sides of mountains with inaccessible peaks. Upon her descent, she embodies the perfect host, having her entourage in a chalet planted on the heights of a pristine resort. The après-ski is her thing, wearing a hooded jumpsuit with a paisley design straight out of the label’s archives.
The iconic illustrations with flamboyant colors that make the fashion house prestige, created in 1958, are still a must that seduced supermodels and icons for years. This winter, our muse opts for a white tiger print in harmony with the snow-covered mountain scenery. Part Heidi, part Lady Di, our heroine embraces winter sports in her lipstick red jersey quilted overalls. In the evening, she electrifies the dancefloor, marking the spirits while wearing her strapless dress. We find her back in the middle of the night, wrapped in a black wool cape embroidered with bouquets of folks’ flowers.
The Japanese inspirations were blended into this varied collection. The Leonard woman is confident and resolutely modern, from colorful and tight-fitting day suits with Yeti boots to quilted jackets with floral prints and balloon sleeves to dresses with black and white animal prints and silver sequin dresses. She knows what to wear on all occasions.
After the show, Georg Lux shares with us his impressions: “I am super happy and relieved; the girls had great energy; this proves they feel good in my creations.”
He continued: “The Leonard Woman is ageless, she loves colorful and sophisticated outfits, but I wanted to propose also a more Parisian style, edgy, declined in white and black, silver to give her a bold attitude. She loves to mix the sporty side, which meets the folk side, which answers the great evening. “
Georg Lux entrusts us there is no man silhouette this season, but the man will be in the spotlight for summer 2024. “For me, the men also have the right to be flamboyant.”
Congrats again to Georg Lux and his team for this beautiful show and the Fall Winter 2023/2024 Collection. We can’t wait to see more next season!
